Nebraska Iowa Oil Company began operations in 1926. In 1947, the
word "Oil" was replaced with "Supply" to better fit the
diversification initiatives that were taking place. Nebraska Iowa
Supply Company (formerly Nebraska Iowa Oil Co.) continues to this
day to be a significant distributor/retailer of petroleum and
related products in Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa, as it has
done for the last 78 years.
Diversification has always been prominent in Company history!
Over the past 78 years, Nebraska Iowa Supply has experienced
diversification into tire distribution, heating equipment
sales/service, automotive parts, Family Restaurants and
Convenience Stores. Capital gained from the "spin-off" of some of
these various branches from time to time, aided the continued
expansion and modernization of the various phases of the wholesale
distribution and retail sales of gasoline, fuels and lubricants.
Today, wholesale sales to
independent associate marketers who own and operate their own
facilities represent 50% of our volume. Direct retail operations
at Petromart Omaha, Petromart I, and Petromart II in Blair,
Nebraska, Petromart Travel Plaza/The Junction Cafe, Missouri
Valley Iowa, Dave's World, Onawa, Iowa, along with branch
office/warehouse locations in Omaha & Norfolk Nebraska, consisting
of bulk truck operations distributing fuels and lubricants
directly to farm, home, industrial and commercial accounts in the
Omaha and Norfolk areas represent the other 50%. |
